Why should I buy a manufactured home?

Manufactured homes are very affordable.  The cost of a manufactured home, and some land, can be very appealing when compared to the cost of a traditionally constructed house.

Isn't a manufactured home the same thing as a mobile home?

In 1976 when the HUD code was enforced, we were able to see better standards used on homes.  The term manufactured home is actually the terminology used now there are greater standards on these homes.

Are manufactured homes energy efficient?

Yes, they are built to standard, or above, guidelines which make them excellent.

Do manufactured homes last long?

As with any home, upkeep is important for the obvious reasons.  Manufactured homes can last a long time just like your traditionally built homes.

Will it take as long to build a manufactured home as it does a traditionally built home?

No! your home is built in a factory which can take as little as a couple months, compared to longer with another built home.

Yes.  You can have a hand in selecting some of the features in your manufactured home.

How are the manufactured homes delivered?

First the land is prepared for the manufactured home to be delivered.  All FHA and HUD standards are met to provide a prepared site for delivery.  The manufactured homes are brought behind a truck to the site and then installation can begin.  Sometimes installation happens by a different crew than the delivery crew.  Watching your manufactured home being set upon the foundation is exciting!
